Sol Wachtler, former arch decider of a New York Court of Appeals, who
served thirteen months in jail after revelation which he had in jeopardy to
kidnap an ex-girlfriend’s 14-year-old daughter, has privileged a first
hurdle toward reinstatement to a use of law. A state appellate
panel has referred his focus for reinstatement to a court’s
Character as well as Fitness Committee. Wachtler was upon a Court of Appeals
for twenty years, 7 of them as arch. He quiescent in 1992, 3 days
after his detain.
